Ellen Blasi

PDG Ellen Blasi is a member of the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne, Florida USA and has been a Rotarian for 19 years.

She has served the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne and Rotary International District 6990 in many roles.

President of Rotary Club of Key Biscayne 2003-2004.  She was the Chairperson for the club’s signature fund raiser and received Rotarian of the Year award.

She served as District Governor’s Special Representative to charter the Rotary Club of Miami Brickell and received her second Rotarian of the Year award.

She served as District Rotaract Chairperson from 2005-2013 and Director of Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) from 2016-2019.

She was Assistant Governor 2008 – 2010 and served as District Director of Club Operations 2010-2011.

She was awarded District Rotarian of the Year for Community Service for the 2008-2009 Rotary year.

Ellen served as District Governor in 2013-2014 and led her District to an increase in membership and increased giving to The Rotary Foundation’s Polio campaign.

Ellen is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Paul Harris Society Member of the Rotary Foundation and served as the District Chair of PHS in 2018-2019.

Ellen was instrumental in bringing the Rotarian efforts to eradicated malaria in the Americas and to integrate that work into the Rotarian global efforts to eradicate malaria.

She has served as advisor to the Americas for Rotarians Against Malaria – Global (formerly Rotarians Eliminating Malaria Action Group) and was appointed Chairwoman of that group in March 2018.

Under her leadership the Rotarian Action Group has been reorganized and partnered with Rotarian groups and other stake holders working to eliminate malaria.
